Free tennis predictions for Dominic Thiem vs. Nicolas Jarry
Dominic Thiem continues his move to a third clay title this season after qualifying at the 1/4-finals of the Hamburg tournament, where he will play against Nicolas Jarry. The duel is on Friday as the Austrian is the big favorite for the victory.
Dominic Thiem eliminated John Millman with 6-2 6-2 for 72 minutes on Thursday showing his best tennis. At the start of the tournament, world number 8 coached the French qualifier Corentin Moutet with 6-4, 6-2. Dominic Thiem will face Nicolas Jarry for the first time and is expected the first to have no problems with his 1/2-finals. So far this season, the 24-year-old tennis player has recorded 38 wins and 11 losses by winning two titles – in Buenos Aires and Lyon. To date, Dominic Thiem is under No. 6 in the annual ranking and will seek to qualify again for the ATP finals in London, which will be held in mid-November.
Nicolas Jarry is 22 years old and is ranked 69th in the world rankings. The Chilean representative loves clay tournaments and it is no surprise that South American players are playing on this floor almost all season. Here in Hamburg, Nicolas Jarry defeated Peter Gojowczyk with 6-1, 6-2 in the first round, and then was lucky that Richard Gasquet gave up the tournament due to injury and without play the Chilean qualified for the 1/4-finals. Prior to arriving in the German city, he dropped into the first round in Umag after retreating Martin Klizan with 2-6, 0-6.
Nicolas Jarry made a strong appearance in March at the Sao Paulo tournament, where he reached the final and lost to Fabio Fognini with 6-1, 1-6, 4-6. This is also the best achievement of the 22-year-old Chilean for the season. Nicolas Jarry is well under Dominic Thiem’s class and I do not expect to make it difficult. I think the world number 8 will record easily with a 2:0 set and will qualify for the semifinals.
