Tennis forecast for Pierre-Hugues Herbert vs Alex Bolt

Pierre-Hugues Herbert will play against Alex Bolt in Adelaide in Australia and we got a Tennis forecast for that match. The game is on Tuesday, 14 January and will not start before 09:30 UK.

Pierre-Hugues Herbert world number 64 played his first tournament in 2018 in Doha. Their he played in the 1st round against Marco Cecchinato and beat him 6-3, 6-4. In the 2nd round, his opponent was Laslo Djere but the French won that match too in straight sets – 6-1, 6-3. However, he got no chance in the ¼ final against Andrey Rublev and lost 4-6, 3-6. Then the Russian won the trophy in Doha.

Herbert ended last year with 10 losses and only one win. His only victory was in the 1st round in Metz against Jan-Lennard Struff but then was beaten in the 2nd round from Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. His last clash in 2019 was in Vienna where he lost against Diego Sebastian Schwartzman 4-6, 4-6 in the 1st round.

Alex Bolt’s world number 157 first tournament was the Canberra Challenger. He beat in his first match Filip Horansky 6-2, 6-1 and got no problem also in his second game in the tournament against Brayden Schnur 6-2, 6-3 but in the third round, he was eliminated by Dominik Koepfer 6-3, 3-6, 5-7.

Bolt is playing mainly in Challengers. Last year he tried to advance to the 1st round in the US Open but lost his first game in the qualifications against Daniel Elahi Galan 3-6, 3-6. The same happens in the tournament in Zhuhai where he lost his first clash in the qualifications against Damir Dzumhur 4-6, 6-2, 4-6.

This will be the first match between Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Alex Bolt, and, of course, the French is favorite. There is a big difference between the ATP tournaments and the Challengers and that’s why I also think that Herbert will be the winner in their first-ever match.
